Youth Orchestra

Our Youth Orchestra is made up of around 40 young musicians who rehearse term-time on a Wednesday from 17:00-18:30.

The Youth Orchestra aims to provide training to young musicians to open pathways to more advanced music making including through regional-level ensembles such as Grampian Youth Orchestra and national-level ensembles such as the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. Many of our more advanced Youth Orchestra players have also played with ACO’s main orchestra, a testament to their ability!

The repertoire for our next season will be announced soon!

Applications for Term 2 are now open.

Our next term will begin on January 8th 2025 with a special side-by-side rehearsal with players of the ACO 6:30-9:00pm. In particular, we’d love to hear from you if you play viola, double bass, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, french horn or trumpet.
